Obituary for Claire N. Partridge
Claire, N. Partridge, 86, of Rumford died Sunday at home. She was the wife of the late James Partridge, EPFD ret. Born in Providence a daughter of the late John V. and Alice M. (Clark) Corcoran, She was a Rumford resident most of her life.
Prior to her marriage she was an executive secretary to the president of Davol Rubber Company. In later years she was a volunteer at the East Providence Community Center where she taught adults how to read and also tutored them in her home. Most of all she was a homemaker and enjoyed spending time with friends and especially with her family, always enjoying their special time together having dinner at the “Club”. She was an avid reader and enjoyed water aerobics.
She leaves her sons; James and his wife Mary of Rumford and John and his wife Laura of Pawtucket. She also leaves a brother in Law James O’Leary of Little Compton and nieces Kelly O’Leary Chaves of Exeter and Carol Albert of North Port, Fl. She was the sister of the late Joseph V. and John W. Corcoran and Mary Jane O’Leary.
The funeral will be held Saturday at 7:45 from the Monahan Drabble Sherman Funeral Home 230 Waterman St., Providence with a Mass of Christian Burial at 9am in St Margaret’s Church, Pawtucket Ave., Rumford. Burial will be in Gate of Heaven Cemetery. Calling hours Friday 2-4 and 6-8pm. In lieu of flowers donations may be made to St Margaret’s Church, 1098 Pawtucket Ave., Rumford, RI 02916.
