Facilities
Located on the historical East Side of Providence, the funeral home started in 1876 as T. F. Monahan & Son started on Wickenden Street in the Fox Point section on the East Side. The funeral home moved up to Wayland Square, at the corner of Waterman Street and Wayland Avenue in 1932 and still graces that corner.
We changed our name to Monahan, Drabble & Sherman Funeral Home when the Drabble-Sherman Funeral Home merged with us in the 1990's. We still carry on the same traditions that these 2 firms believed in over 140 years ago when they first opened their doors. Still family owned, we care about the community we live in and the families we have served for well over a century.
We have 2 room to conduct wakes in, a large room that holds about 60 people and a smaller room, more intimate room that holds about 25 people. All rooms are handicapped accessible. We have a smaller lot by behind the building and a much larger lot adjoining the small lot. The century old building is unique and full of character.
