Obituary for Harriet M. Chafee
Chafee, Harriet M. Chafee, 84, of Barrington died June 22 at the Philip Hulitar Hospice Center in Providence. She was the wife of the late William G. Chafee. Born in Boston, she was the daughter of the late Dudley L. and Eunice (Harriman) Millikin. She was a longtime resident of Barrington and Little Compton.
Known to many as Bunny, she was the proud and devoted mother of two sons and a beloved grandmother. Harriet was a member of the Agawam Hunt and Sakonnet Golf Clubs. An avid golfer, she was a long-standing member of the RI Women’s Golf Association.
She leaves two sons, Bruce Chafee of Boston and Mark Chafee, his wife Amy; grandchildren Lia and Walker all of Little Compton; a sister, Bets Loving of New Zealand.
A memorial service will be held in the Redwood Chapel at Swan Point Cemetery on Friday, July 25th at 11:30. Burial will be private. In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to the American Cancer Society.
