Obituary for Philip "Phil" Hippert
Hippert, Philip “Phil”, 70, Johnston, R.I., passed away on August 4, 2021, at the HopeHealth Hulitar Hospice Center, Providence.
He leaves his wife, Denise “Dee” Tomasso; a son, Andrew Hippert and a granddaughter, Alicia Hippert, both of Bedford, New Hampshire; as well as his siblings: brother Charles Hippert, Jr. of Geneva, New York; and sisters Susan Fitzgerald of Norwood, MA and Patricia Hippert of Central Falls. He also leaves several nieces and nephews.
Born in Yonkers, New York, he was the son of the late Charles and Adeline Hippert. He graduated from Southern New Hampshire University in Manchester, New Hampshire, where he played soccer. Later, he became first a coach for his son's team, and later a referee in other youth leagues, in both New Hampshire and Rhode Island. He continued to enjoy watching soccer in his retirement.
Phil's career included time as a Buyer/Planner at several manufacturing companies, including Sanders, a Lockheed Martin company, in New Hampshire; and Hall Spars and Tower Manufacturing, both in Rhode Island.
A caring, compassionate, man, Phil continued his generous spirit by donating his body to science, through The Anatomical Gift Program at the Warren Alpert Medical School of Brown University, where many classes of medical students will learn from his gift. As such, there will be no wake or funeral, but rather a memorial service for family and friends to take place in the near future.
The family would like to thank the staff at HopeHealth for their exceptional care of Phil, making his last days so peaceful. In lieu of flowers, please make any donations to them at HopeHealth Hulitar Hospice Center, 1085 North Main Street, Providence, RI 02904.
