Obituary for Eveline Louise Malabre
Eveline Louise Malabre nee Hammond was born to Helen Simmond and Arthur Hammond on April 19, 1925 in Kingston, Jamaica. She grew up in Fairhill District in St. Catherine and attended the Fairhill All Age School.
She married the late Cyril Malabre on May 15, 1948. She was a devoted wife and mother who dedicated 100 percent of her time to the needs her household ….
The couple produced 13 children; 11 Daughters and 2 sons. The daughters are Betty, Sophia, Eva, Gloria, Aliene , Claudette (Jamaica) Joy & Loretta (Canada). Preceded her in death are Jasmine, Silvia and Julie. Two Sons: Arthur and Ralph Malabre.
Eveline accepted the Lord as her Savior at an early age and was a member of the Pilgrims’ Holiness Church while residing in Jamaica. She enjoyed cooking and singing
She migrated to the United States on August 31, 1985 and made her home in Providence RI. For many years, she was an active member of the Olney Street, Baptist Church, located in Providence RI until her illness in 2015.
After a long and meandering illness Eveline passed away peacefully with her family surrounding her, on Wednesday, April 28, 2021 at 10:50pm in the home of her daughter Eva ( 39 years after the passing of her husband Cyril).
Mrs. Malabre is survived by daughters Betty, Sophia, Eva, Gloria, Aliene , Claudette (Jamaica) Joy & Loretta (Canada) Sons: Arthur and Ralph and numerous grand and great, great grandchildren. She will be missed by numerous friends.
