Obituary for Martha van Zuiden
Martha Maldonado van Zuiden, PhD, 70 of Providence, RI, died Wednesday, October 5, 2016. She was a daughter of Alberto and Eloisa Maldonado-Febres.
Martha’s passion was people. The 40-year love she shared with Paul was one-of-a kind and cut through cultural, language and geographical divides. Her daughter Ganesh is her spitting image and they had an unbreakable bond.
Martha had a thirst for travel and culture and was a Spanish educator. She loved walking, biking and tennis. She was active in the Handicraft Club, and fulfilled a passion for arts and culture through decoupage, basket weaving and French classes.
She is survived by Dr. Paul van Zuiden; Ganesh van Zuiden; son-in-law, Fred Rosenberg; sister Blanca Maldonado; brother Alberto Maldonado and nephew Enrique.
A celebration of life will be held at the Waterman Grill on 10/14/16, 5-7pm at 4 Richmond Sq; PVD, RI 02906 for close family and friends. Please RSVP to the family. Donations can be made in Martha’s name to the Alzheimer’s Association at www.alz.org and will be matched in full.
