Obituary for William Lee Hagy
William Lee Hagy, 51, passed away after a courageous battle with cancer on September 29, 2011 at home surrounded by his loving family. He was the beloved husband of Polly (Irving) Hagy for 22 years. He was the loving father of Justin A. Polin and Lisa, Nicholas L. Hagy, and Ashley H. Hagy and Tony. He was the devoted grandfather of Benjamin Alexander and Alanna Lee. William was the adored son of Margaret (Niblack) Hagy and the late George Washington Hagy. He is also survived by his devoted brother Steven and his wife Patricia and sister Kathleen and her husband Neil, and his many loving nieces and nephews. He was the loving nephew of the late Betty Lee Hodges.
William was a car salesman for many years, and also enjoyed delighting his family with culinary treats. Cooking for his family was one of his biggest pleasures, as well as playing with his 2 weimaraners George and Nellie. He will always be remembered for his kindness and offbeat personality.
A Celebration of his life will be held at 3PM on Monday in the Monahan Drabble Sherman Funeral Home 230 Waterman St. Providence. Calling hours Sunday 1-4pm at the funeral home. Donations in his memory may be made to the Rhode Island Weimaraner Rescue (weimaraner.rescueme.org/RhodeIsland) or to the Central Congregational Church.
