Obituary for Whitney William Hill
Whitney William Hill, 59 of Exeter, RI passed away on March 3, 2015 after a long, determined battle with cancer. He was the loving father to Garrett of Exeter and Lindsey of Coventry, RI.  He was the husband of 22 years and longtime friend to their mother Pamela Hill.
Born in Providence, RI., he was the son of Ethel Hill and the late Whitney W. Hill.
He graduated from North Kingstown High School and was a longtime resident of North Kingstown before moving to Exeter.  He worked as a contractor and driver with The North Kingstown School Bus Contractors Association for over 30 years. He also worked with the State of Rhode Island Boating Safety and Mumford Services of North Kingstown.
He loved his family, farming, boating and his beloved dog Timona.
Whitney was the brother of David Hill and Tena Dana both of North Kingstown and the late Nan Wickershiem.   He is also survived by his uncles, Louis Ward of Bonifay, FL and George Ward of Miramar, FL along with many aunts, cousins, nieces and nephews.
Determined, Whitney chose to make his donation to the Brown Alpert Medical School. A celebration of Whitney's life will be held at a later date. In lieu of flowers, he asked that donations be made to the Newport Public Education Foundation, Inc., 320 Thames Street #1237, Newport, RI 02840. (www.npef-ri.org)
Profound gratitude to Dr. Howard Safran and colleagues at Rhode Island Hospital's Comprehensive Cancer Center, Home and Hospice Care of Rhode Island South Team and Monahan Drabble Sherman Funeral Home.
