Obituary for Walter H. Edwards
Walter H. Edwards, 82, of Plainville, passed away January 23, 2019. He was the husband of Alice E. (Masson) Edwards. Born in Attleboro, MA, he was the son of the late Walter B. and Edith (Liebrich) Edwards. Walt graduated from North Attleboro High School and Wentworth Institute of Technology. He continued the family business, Edwards Electric Inc., until his retirement several years ago. He was a member of Grace Episcopal Church and served three years with the National Guard.
Walt was very active in the Boy Scouts, as Assistant Scoutmaster Troup 23 North Attleboro, Cubmaster Pack 46 Plainville, and Assistant Scoutmaster Troop 132 Plainville. He was an avid hiker, skier, and sportsman. He was a member of the Hundred Highest Mountain Club in New England (Appalachian Mountain Club) and a former member of the Wampanoag Road Runners Club.
Besides his wife, Walt is survived his son Stephen P. Edwards (Mary, Ogdensburg, NY), daughters Nancy E. Nicholas (John, Woodinville, WA) and Joan A. Edwards (Robert Greene, Bethel, CT); brothers Lawrence K. Edwards (Nancy, Wareham, MA) and Peter Edwards (Wareham, MA) and sister-in-law Deborah S. Edwards (Wareham, MA); and grandchildren Jonathan and Alison Edwards, Andrew, Michael, and James Nicholas, and Rachel and Benjamin Greene. He was predeceased by two brothers, John Michael Edwards and Craig A. Edwards.
A Memorial Celebration will be held later this spring.
