Obituary for Teresa Salisbury
Teresa J. Salisbury of Providence died Saturday at the Philip Hulitar Hospice Center surrounded by her family. She was the wife of the late Walter R. Salisbury.
A lifelong resident of Providence, she was a daughter of the late William & Winifred (O’Hara) Cunningham.
Teresa was a longtime volunteer receptionist at the Fatima Hospital in North Providence.
She leaves two sons: William H. Salisbury of Warwick and Walter R. Salisbury of Smithfield, 2 daughters: Joan McDermott of Wakefield and Barbara Salisbury of Providence., 2 sisters: Rita Brooksbank of North Providence and Winifred O’Rourke of Warwick, a brother James Cunningham of East Providence, 7 grandchildren and 4 great grandchildren. She was the sister of the late John, Edward, William and Joseph Cunningham and Mary Leonard.
The funeral will be held on Tuesday with visitation starting at 10:30am in the Monahan Drabble Sherman Funeral Home 230 Waterman St., Providence followed by a Mass of Christian Burial at 1pm in St Pius Church, Eaton St., Providence. Burial will be in Swan Point Cemetery. In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to Hospice Care of R.I. 1085 North Main St., Providence, RI 02904.
