Obituary for Susan Peterson Patch
Susan Peterson Patch, 61 died Thursday at home surrounded by family. She was the wife of Michael G. Patch.
Born in Ridgewood, NJ, a daughter of the late George E. and Doris (Ludtke) Peterson, she has been a resident of the East Side of Providence since 1978.
In her youth, Susan was active in ballet and gymnastics and enjoyed international travel, especially to Italy. Later, she developed a continuing interest in the theater. After graduation from Wheaton College (MA) with a degree in Urban Studies, she married her boyfriend from high school and devoted herself to her family. Susan dedicated her later years to her sons, and forever instilled her passion for travel, education, and the arts in them.
Besides her husband, she leaves her beloved sons: Christopher G. Patch of New Orleans; Alexander H. Patch of Boston and Colin M. Patch of Providence, as well as a brother, George H. Peterson of Saint Helena, CA.
A memorial service will be held Tuesday, March 15th at 10am in Central Congregational Church, Angell St., Providence. In lieu of flowers, donations in her memory may be made to Heifer International or World Vision.
