Obituary for Sandra L. Carlson
Sandra L. Carlson, 69, of Providence died Saturday at the Miriam Hospital. Born in Pawtucket a daughter of the late Thomas and Muriel (Gaulin) Buckles, she was a Providence resident most of her life.
She was a real estate agent for Scotti & Associates for many years. She served a Chairwoman of the Providence Zoning Board from 1983 to 1986 and again from 1991 to 2006. She was also a long time member of the board of the Port of Providence serving as their chair since 2007.
She leaves a son: Stuart Carlson of Providence, a granddaughter; Vanessa Carlson and a grandson, Brandon Carlson, 2 sisters: Patricia Comery of Coventry and Amy Brown of Dunellen, Fl., a brother Robert Buckles of Bradenton, Fl. And a longtime friend Peter Carnevale of Providence. She was the mother of the late Leigh Carlson.
Calling hours will be held Friday from 4 to 7pm in the Monahan Drabble Sherman Funeral home 230 Waterman St., Providence. Burial will be private.Â
