Obituary for Leonard Reilly
Leonard W. Reilly, 87, of Providence died Wednesday at Epoch on Blackstone. He was the husband of Evelyn (Melloon) Reilly. A lifelong Providence resident, he was a son of the late John and Margaret (Curtin) Reilly.
He was the Assistant to the Commissioner of Public Safety in the City of Providence for 30 years retiring 20 years ago. He was a docent at Roger Williams Park Zoo in Providence, a member of the R.I. Historical Society and a long time communicant of St. Sebastian Church. He was an Army veteran of World War II.
Besides his wife he leaves 2 nieces and their husbands, Cheryl and Ralph Guglielmi of Providence and Maureen and Charles Giuntini of North Augusta, SC and several nieces and nephews. He was the brother of the late John H. Reilly.
Relatives and friends may call on Saturday at 9am at the Monahan Drabble Sherman Funeral Home, 230 Waterman St., Providence followed by a Mass of Christian Burial in The Church of St. Sebastian, Providence at 10am. Burial will be in St. Francis Cemetery, Pawtucket. Donations in his memory may be made to St. Sebastian Church.
