Obituary for Jeanne Marie Campbell
Jeanne Marie Campbell, 64, formerly of Larch St. Providence, died Saturday at the R.I. Hospital. A lifelong resident of Providence, she was a daughter of the late Thomas and Josephine (Dwyer) Campbell and granddaughter of the late Ellen Campbell.
Jean Marie was the oldest known survivor of the polio epidemic of 1953.
She leaves her Aunt, Sr. Michella RSM of Cumberland, her cousins: William Campbell and Diane Ryan both of Greenville, Stephen Campbell of Exeter and Paul Campbell of South Kingstown, several close friends: Marge Gibree of Roswell, GA, Anne Sharp of North Providence, Shelia Kane of Coventry and Dot Desmarais of Warwick. She was the sister of the late Joanne Campbell and niece of the late Gertrude, William and Regina Campbell.
The funeral will be held Wednesday at 9am from the Monahan Drabble Sherman Funeral Home, 230 Waterman St., Providence with a Mass of Christian Burial in St. Joseph Church, Hope St. at 10AM. Calling hours Tuesday 5-7pm.
