Obituary for Georgette Chamoun
Our beloved mother, Georgette Chamoun, 79, of Barrington, peacefully passed away with her family by her side on Wednesday, February 3, 2021.
She will be lovingly remembered by her children: Maha Barsom, Norma and Zeyad Morcos, Ruba and Zuheir Gabro, Cloudia and Gabi Wassouf, Rita and Regis Mauss, Marena and Fadi Henawai, and George Barsom; and nine grandchildren.
She was predeceased by her loving husband of 46 years, Rafiek Barsom; and her parents Victoria Ahoo and Chamoun Chamoun.
She was born in Al-Hassakeh, Syria, where she resided until immigrating to the United States in 1990. She was a seamstress and operated her own business in Barrington until retiring in 2009. She woke everyday thrilled by the possibility of what a new day could bring. She was fearless and always said yes to life without hesitation. She was a hard-working and loving mom who raised 7 children while running her business. She nurtured and bettered all who came across her path and was loved dearly by many friends and patrons. She loved hosting family and friends to enjoy her fabulous cooking and she was always a generous host. In her spare time, she enjoyed writing poetry. She was also a talented artist who always inspired her children to pursue perfection in all their endeavors.
Due to Covid conditions her funeral services will be private at St. Ephraim’s Church, 215 Washington St., Central Falls followed by a private burial at Swan Point Cemetery, Providence.
Memorial Donations may be made in Georgette Chamoun’s name to St. Mathews Church 149 Park St. West Roxbury, MA 02132.
