Ellen A. Conroy died peacefully on October 3,2022 in South County. Born on December 10, 1955 she is survived by her brother Tom, his wife Joan and her nephews David Wolman and his partner Elizabeth, Michael Wolman and his wife Tamala and grandnephew Elliot Wolman. Many friends and relatives were the center of her life. They are far to numerous to mention except for her special friend and confidant, Stella, the cat.
With a B.A. and a M.A from URI in foreign language, she was a foreign language teacher at Prout, Mt. Pleasant and later Classical High School where she retired as head of the Foreign Language department in 2015. In addition she was an adjunct Professor at Bryant University.
She spent her life mentoring students and helping people. Tenth St. Providence was her fulltime residence since birth and she spent summers in the family house in Narragansett that she has owned since 1995.
She was predeceased by her parents Kay and Tom Conroy and her sister Kathleen M. Wolman.
Visitation will be on Friday in St. Raymond’s Church, North Main St. from 10 to 11am followed by a Mass of Christian burial at 11am. Burial will be in St. Francis Cemetery, Pawtucket. In lieu of flowers donations can be made to ReFocus, 45 Greeley St. Providence, R.I. 02904.
