Obituary for Doris H. Franey
Doris H. Franey, 101, formerly of Barrington, died Saturday at the home of her daughter in Rehoboth. She was the wife of the late Thomas J. Franey, Jr.
Born in Providence, she was a daughter of the late Robert and Jennie (McNally) Harding, she was a Barrington resident for 60 years.
Doris was a graduate of Hope High School and Edgewood Secretarial School. She worked for 16 years as secretary to the principal of Barrington Jr. High School retiring 40 years ago.
Some of her happiest times were the ones spent with her family and with her husband on their boat “Night Wind”.
She leaves her daughter Joyce Coleman and her husband Hank of Rehoboth, her son Thomas J. Franey III and Maryellen Floyd of East Falmouth, MA, her grandson Jeffrey Deutsch and his wife Tiffany and granddaughter Elizabeth Deutsch and great grandchildren Justice, Hunter, Taylor, Elsa, Anya, Cameron, Spencer and Haley. She also leaves her golden retrievers Tucker and Tully.
A Mass of Christian Burial will be held Tuesday at 10am in St. Luke’s Church, Washington Rd., Barrington. Burial will be private. Donations in her memory may be made to the Rehoboth Ambulance Committee, Box 156, Rehoboth, MA 02769.
