Obituary for R. Park Palmer
R. Park Palmer, 73, of Providence died Tuesday at Roger Williams Hospital. He was the husband of Cornelia “Keena” (Green) Palmer.
Born in San Diego, CA, a son of Velma (Spencer) Palmer of Providence and the late Major Harry W. Schenk who died with honor as a Japanese Prisoner of War. Park was the adopted son of the late Stephen Palmer..
He was a graduate of St. Mark’s School, attended The University of Pennsylvania where he was a proud member of  St. Elmo’s and graduated from Northeastern University.
Before his retirement he worked for Tucker Anthony.  Following retirement he concentrated on his inventions.
He was a former member of the Agawam Hunt in East Providence and the Merchants and Miners at the Turks Head Club in Providence
Besides his wife and mother he leaves a son:  Robert Park “PK” Palmer, Jr Esq.. of Providence and two brothers:  Stephen Palmer Jr. and his wife Ruth of Wenham, MA., and Jonathan Palmer and his wife Lucia and their children Helen and Robbie of Barrington.
A memorial service will be held Saturday at Noon at St. Martin’s Church, Orchard Ave., Providence. In lieu of flowers, donations in his memory may be made to the Providence Animal Rescue League, 34 Elbow St. Providence, R.I. 02901.
