Obituary for Bronka "Blanche" Augustyn
Bronka A. (Dzisko) “Blanche” Augustyn. Her life began December 23, 1925 and ran 85 years until her untimely passing on February 27. Born in Nashua, NH, Bronka moved to Providence, RI while she was still a child where she was a lifelong resident. She was a graduate of Ezek Hopkins Junior High and Hope High School. She was the wife of the late Raymond Augustyn. She worked and retired from Federal Products after a long and fruitful career.
Bronka was one of 4 sisters. Anna Mikulis formerly of Prov, RI and Jennie Chieglis formerly of Fairborn, OH preceded her from this life. Her last remaining sister is Stacia Dzisko of Prov, RI. Her son Walter Augustyn and his wife Kathy of Warwick, RI, three grandchildren and a great grandson also survive her.
Blanche was a member of the American Legion Auxiliary and was a strong veteran supporter. She was active in the St. Adalbert’s Church Seniors group.
She enjoyed time spent with family and friends and will be remembered by her sharings of her cooking and baking talents. Blanche was a woman full of energy that helped her maintain a youthful spirit and allowed her to touch many lives. In passing she will be missed by many.
A Mass of Christian Burial will be held Friday at 10am in St. Adalbert’s Church, 866 Atwells Ave. Providence. Visiting hours will be held at Monahan, Drabble, & Sherman Funeral Home 230 Waterman St., Providence on Thursday from 4pm to 8pm. In lieu of flowers, donations to her memory to her favorite charity, St. Adalbert’s Church. will be appreciated.
