Obituary for Kolajo Paul Afolabi
Kolajo Afolabi, 31, of Providence passed away on September 21, 2011, while on a morning jog through Providence, RI. Born on August 30, 1980, Kolajo was a gifted and caring man known for his warmth, humor and commitment to his friends and family. Our community is deeply saddened by this loss.
Kolajo graduated from Longmeadow High School, MA in ‘99 and earned special academic honors for his studies in public policy and American institutions at Brown University (‘03). He was currently serving as an adjunct lecturer at Brown University’s Department of Education while earning his doctorate at Harvard University’s Graduate School of Education (‘13).
Kolajo is survived by mother Kathleen, father Kolajo, sister Yetunde, brother Dele and partner Bobby van Druff.Â
A viewing will be held this Sunday, September 25th from 11am to 1:30pm at the Monahan Drabble Sherman Funeral Home, 230 Waterman St. Providence followed by a funeral service at 3pm at Brown University’s Manning Chapel. In lieu of flowers, donations can be made to College Visions.
