Obituary for Alice Carmel Calner
East Providence; Alice Carmel Calner, 98, died peacefully with her family by her side at the Philip Hulitar Hospice Center. She was the beloved wife of the late  Raymond Calner.
A lifelong resident of East Providence, She was a daughter of the late John J and Josephine (Spaight) Gregory.
She leaves a daughter: Marilyn Young and her husband Richard of Stratham, NH, a grandson: Gregory Young and his wife Shauna of Morrisville, VT. and a great grandson; Henry Thomas Young. She was the sister of the late Mary Harrington, Ursula Shadrick, Estelle MacDonald, Loretta Scullian, and John J. Gregory, Jr.
Carmel’s family would like to thank Lynne, Anna, Linda and Donna for their wonderful care.
The funeral will be held Wednesday beginning at 8:30am in the Monahan Drabble Sherman Funeral Home 230 Waterman St., Providence with a Mass of Christian Burial in Sacred Heart Church, Taunton Ave, East Providence at 10am. Burial will follow in Mt St Mary Cemetery. In lieu of flowers donations may be made to Memorial Home Care C/O Memorial Hospital of RI, 11 Brewster St. Pawtucket, RI 02860 or Hospice Care of R.I., 1085 North Main St., Providence, RI 02904
