Obituary for Ruth Inez Wills-Henderson
Ruth Inez Wills Henderson died peacefully at Waterview Villa in East Prov., RI on October 12th
2014 at the age of 100. Ruth was born on July 5, 1914 in Prov., RI to Herbert J. Wills and Grace Gibson Wills who both pasted away when Ruth was only 4 years old. She and her sister Hope Wills lived in an orphanage until the age of 18. Ruth was the wife of Alan Henderson.  She was the mother of the late William Howard Simpson Jr. Her siblings were the late Gladys Lambert, Richard (Dickie) Wills, Louis A Wills and Hope V. Wills. She leaves four grandchildren Linda (Tshombe) Lambert, Howard, Danny and  Steven Simpson, and 17 great grandchildren 20 great-great grandchildren and 2 great great-great grandchildren all descended from her first husband the late William Howard Simpson, Sr. to a total of 5 generations, who all got to know and love her. She also leaves 2 nephews and 1 Niece, other relatives and friends.
Ruth enjoyed hanging out at Betsy's Store and Diner with friends and going for long walks with her sister Hope. The neighborhood children loved her as she always kept a bowl of candy to pass out among them. One of the most things we remember about her is that she loved a favorite cookie which was ginger snaps. You could not go and visit her without a bag of ginger snaps, which seems to always make her day. The other thing she loved was to dance and go on trips to New York where she used to live and had many friends there.
The family is truly blessed to have her for so many years and she will be lovingly missed.
Visiting hours are Monday, October 20th at 11am followed by a service in the chapel at the funeral home
