Ian McNeill, most recently of North Kingstown, RI, passed away peacefully on October 1, 2024 surrounded by his loved ones at age 80. Ian was born February 21, 1944 in Glasgow, Scotland to the late John and Gwendoline McNeill. He is survived by his loving children Jamie McNeill and Megan Logee, and his cherished grandchildren Helena, Rowan and Marcus.
Ian’s life was filled with travel, music, soccer and relentless humor. He enjoyed nothing more than watching his grandchildren grow and spending time with his family. Ian was a man whose presence brought joy to those around him, and he will be remembered fondly by all who had the privilege of knowing him.
Many of Ian’s friends and family members were able to visit him to reminisce and say good-bye while he was on hospice at Scalabrini Nursing Home. A special thank you to the wonderful nurses, aids and staff that treated him with love and dignity throughout the years he resided there. Ian is donating his body to The Warren Alpert Medical School of Brown University, so the family will not be holding memorial services at this time but instead will be holding a private celebration of life for his closest friends and family.
Donations in his memory may be made to the The Michael J. Fox Foundation for Parkinson's Research
