Karen M Brown (Houle) of Hope Valley, RI passed away on August 7th 2024 due to a lengthy illness. She was born on February 22, 1957 in Great Lakes, IL. She was the daughter of the late Normand and Rena Houle (Therrien) of Mystic, CT.
Karen graduated Robert Fitch Senior High School in Groton, CT in 1975. She was employed for many years as a nurse and dietary aide at the Shady Acres Nursing Home in West Kingston, RI before retirement. Karen enjoyed cooking, baking, gardening, sewing, and hanging out with her dear friends and family.
Karen leaves two sons; Michael Bessette (Erica) and Adam Brown (Terry); and a daughter Arielle Hall (Shane). She also leaves two stepsons; Kyle Brown and Brian Brown(Lanova). She was predeceased by her daughter Aimee Bessette-Holt (Ronald). She also leaves 11 grandchildren.
She leaves 6 siblings: Brothers Glenn Houle, Normand Houle, and Joseph Silva. Sisters Julie Bairstow, Holly Meier and Heidi Houle. She leaves behind many nieces and nephews.
She was predeceased by her longtime companion William Cormier of Hope Valley, RI.
Per Karen’s wishes funeral services are respectively omitted. A celebration of life will be held at a later date.
