Obituary for Mildred Killgore
Mildred Fain Killgore, of Providence, RI, died August 28, 2018, aged 87. Born and raised in Hendersonville, she graduated from Hendersonville High School as valedictorian of her class and later, summa cum laude with a Bachelor’s degree from University of North Carolina- Greensboro. She worked for the Department of Defense before marrying in 1954 to Richard H Killgore. She achieved her greatest desire, to be a loving housewife to her husband and devoted mother to two children, and grandmother to one. She enjoyed traveling to many places with family, and was a voracious reader, and a great cook.
She is preceded in death by her father Ora Fain, and mother Ethel (nee Johnson) Fain (Walker) and baby sister Joan Fain, and husband Richard Killgore. She is survived by her daughters Lee Killgore of Dallas, TX and Leslie Killgore of Providence RI, her grandson, Ian Killgore of New York City, and her sister Georgia McCarty of Sevierville TN, as well as many other local kinfolk.

A graveside service will be held at Oakdale Cemetery in Hendersonville, on Sept 15, 2018 at 2pm. Presiding will be Pastor Wally Shamburger of First Baptist Church. Any friends, classmates or family are welcome to attend.
