Obituary for Andrea Newman - Gilligan
Andrea Newman-Gilligan, 40, of Rumford passed away on August 8, 2018 surrounded by her family and friends. Andrea was the loving wife and best friend of Kara Newman-Gilligan and world’s best mom to Callahan. She was the beloved daughter of Michael and Susan Newman of Boston and sister to Natalie and Scott Lipson of New York City. Andrea was the proud godmother and aunt to Zoey, Eleanor, Addison and Abigail and the most fun aunt, daughter-in- law and sister- in-law to the “Jersey Crew.”
Andrea was born in Los Angeles and attended the Marlborough School. She was a graduate of Providence College and a member of the P.C. women’s softball team. Andrea worked for Marc Greenfield’s law firm for many years and was the owner of ExL College Counseling. She was an avid cook and life-long athlete, but she liked nothing more than sitting on the beach.

Andrea’s family would like to thank all of the nurses, aids, doctors and workers at Women’s and Infants Hospital, especially the 4th Floor and the Infusion Center. There are no words to express the gratitude we are feeling for all the amazing people who cared for her and her family.

In lieu of flowers, memorial donations can be made in Andrea’s name to Lincoln School,301 Butler Avenue, Providence, RI, 02906 or www.lincolnschool.org.

A celebration of Andrea’s life will be held on August 23, 2018.
