Obituary for Constance Bissonnette
Constance (Doorley) Bissonnette, 90, formally of Brightview Commons, South Kingstown passed peacefully Wednesday at the Scalabrini Villa. She was the wife of the late Maurice Bissonnette.

Born in Providence, a daughter of the late Edward and Anna (Farrelly) Doorley. She grew up in St. Michael’s Parish, graduated from St. Xavier Academy and The College of New Rochelle Class of 1949. She attended her 65th Class Reunion in 2014.

Constance was a teacher for 25 years in the Providence School System, positively impacting the lives of many children at Sackett Street School.

Connie was an accomplished soloist with a God given voice. She proudly sang under the direction of Jon Carew at St. Pius Church. She was a Dame of Malta for many years, making innumerable trips to Lourdes France to aid those in need. Connie belonged to The Dunes Club, PT. Judith CC, the Hope Club, Providence Art Club and loved to play bridge at the Agawam Hunt Club.

She leaves behind many loving nieces, nephews, cousins, godchildren and dear friends. She was the sister of the late Madonna M. (Doorley) Maggiacomo.

The family would like to thank Scalabrini Villa, her personal caregivers, and her friend and hairdresser of 40 years, John DeTroia who kept her beautiful throughout.

The funeral will be held Tuesday at 9:30 from the Monahan, Drabble & Sherman Funeral Home, 230 Waterman Street Providence with a Mass of Christian Burial in The Church of St. Sebastians, 67 Cole Avenue Providence at 11am.
