Obituary for Jennifer Gray LaPierre
Jennifer Gray (Merchant) LaPierre, 55, of Little Compton died Friday at St. Ann’s Hospital in Fall River. She was the wife of Edward LaPierre and devoted mother to Landon LaPierre. She was a person who approached many things with enthusiasm and a ready laugh.
Born on September 15th, 1962 she was a daughter of David and Brenda (Sherman) Merchant of Little Compton.
Jennifer graduated from Barrington High School in 1980 and earned a BA in psychology from the University of Vermont in 1985.
Jen had an infectious smile and was an unconditionally true friend to many. Her interests included skiing, boating, and swimming at Elephant Rock Beach. She also spent many summers at the family cottage on Old Killingly Pond. Her gardening showed an ability to cultivate beauty in her surroundings.
She also leaves a sister Rebecca Merchant of Southborough, MA and a brother Gregory Merchant and his wife Heidi and their children Mason and Noelle of Longmeadow, MA.
A Memorial Service will be held on Friday at 11am in the United Congregational Church on the Commons in Little Compton.
