Obituary for Melissa Lee Johnson-Dooley
Melissa Johnson Dooley, 42 of Cranston passed away surrounded by her loving family at Tufts Medical Center, Boston, MA on January 10, 2018. She was the loving wife of Adam Dooley and beloved mother of Ayden Dooley. Melissa was a devoted daughter of the late Marybeth Johnson. Melissa and Ayden had a bond like no other. She also leaves behind her treasured dog Murphy. She fought a courageous battle against a rare viral heart infection.
In 2013, Melissa was a proud graduate of The Surgical Technician Program at NEIT. She started her career at Newport Hospital. She worked at Memorial Hospital in Pawtucket, RI until June, 2017.
Melissa received much joy from attending Ayden's Little League games. She was an avid fan of the Boston Red Sox and Patriots. She was an incredibly talented and creative artist. Every summer she enjoyed her vacations by the water in Narragansett at her family's beach house with Carol, Rob, Jillian, Martha, Howie, and many other loving family members. She also loved spending time on Cape Cod every summer visiting her mother in law Marie and Bill Ring making wonderful memories with Adam and Ayden.
Melissa adored and enjoyed spending time with her nieces and nephews, Connor, Sophia, Mason, Lucia, and Adriana. Christmas Eve at Peter and Tina Dooley's home was special to Melissa surrounded by family.
The funeral and service will be held Friday, January 19th at 10:00 am at Monahan, Drabble & Sherman Funeral home, 230 Waterman St. Providence with a service at 11:00 am. Burial will be in Gate of Heaven Cemetery, East Providence. Calling hours Thursday 4:00 PM to 7:00 PM. In lieu of flowers, donations in her memory may be made to Tufts Medical Center, 800 Washington St., Boston, MA 02111, tuftsmedicalcenter.org.
