Obituary for Michael Pierce Donovan
Michael Pierce Donovan died in Warwick on September 15 at the age of 59 after a long battle with alcohol addiction.
Michael was born on July 9, 1958, in Providence to Barbara Burton Donovan and Pierce James Donovan. He graduated from Barrington High School in 1976 and then attended Rhode Island College, where he was a member of the baseball team. He worked for many years as a chef for establishments in Rhode Island and elsewhere, including a small cruise line. He loved the outdoors and was an avid runner and cyclist.
He is survived by his daughter Bryn Watson of Rochester, NY, and three sisters: Karen Donovan of Riverside; Beth Donovan of Cranston; and Martha Donovan of Barrington. He was preceded in death by his mother and father.
