Obituary for John M. Gilbert
John M. Gilbert, 72, of Warwick passed away on Thursday, February 3, 2022. He was the beloved husband and best friend of Christine “Chris” (McDade) Gilbert. They celebrated their 50th wedding anniversary last October.
Born in Pawtucket, a son of the late Jack and Ann (DeGuilio) Gilbert. He was a lifelong resident of Pawtucket before moving to Warwick 4 years ago.
He was a union laborer for Local #271 for 25 years before retiring. He loved sailing solo and with Chris on Narragansett Bay and walking his rescue dogs Rio in Lincoln Woods and later Nicky at the "track" at Twin River. It was the best part of every day for all ! He was a talented handyman and he loved art and drawing.
Besides his wife, he leaves a brother, David Gilbert and a sister, Lori Brooks, brother-in-law of Kathy & Gary Cregg of Garland Texas., nieces and nephews , numerous cousins and many cherished life long friends.

A Memorial Service will be held Saturday, February 19th at 11am in the Redwood Chapel at Swan Point Cemetery, 585 Blackstone Blvd, Providence, RI to which relatives and friends are invited.
