Sweet Gifts
I am giving my friends
Bite-size cookies for Christmas
I even offer some to some to the robin
On my fire escape
They are made with bitter almonds
With sweet memories
And a few salty tears
Hansel and Gretel
Used cookie crumbs
To find their way home
From the woods the witch
And the sandman
I bake the cookies
Slowly by the heat of my heart
Until they turn into love
And melt on the tongue of my friends
Her Memorial Service will be held on June 26th at 11am in the Central Congregational Church, 296 Angell Street to which friends are invited. In lieu of flowers, donations in her memory may be made to Central Congregational Church, 296 Angell Street, Providence, RI 02906.
