Obituary for Pamela Joyce Reo
Pamela Joyce Reo of Providence, RI passed away surrounded by love, in the comfort of her home, on April 19, 2021 at the age of 64, following a valiant four-year battle against cancer. She was a loving and devoted friend and family member, known for her generosity, kindness, thoughtfulness, and sense of humor. Pam was pre-deceased by her longtime companion, Sara Dwyer. She was the daughter of the late Michael Reo and is survived by her mother, Nancy (Rawlinson) Reo; her sister Rebecca Reo and her partner, Terri Birmingham; her brother Thomas Reo and his wife, Lisa Reo; and her sister Joy Reo and her partner, Diane Heffner. She also leaves behind Paul Brooks and Marie J. Langlois, both of whom were cherished and faithful friends of Pam.
She grew up in Coventry, RI and was a beloved and dedicated occupational therapist for over 30 years at the Vanderbilt Rehabilitation Center at Newport Hospital in Newport, RI until she retired in 2017. She was a graduate of Coventry High School, Becker College, and the University of New England, where she received a Bachelor of Science degree in Occupational Therapy.
A private funeral service will be conducted on Friday, April 23. A memorial service will be planned for the summer, to allow her many family and friends to grieve the loss and honor her. In lieu of flowers, donations to the HopeHealth Hulitar Hospice Center may be made in her memory: 1085 N Main St, Providence, RI 02904.
