Obituary for C. Jane Latham
C. Jane Latham of Providence, passed away on Aug. 14 after a short illness at the Philip Hulitar Hospice Center in Providence, RI. She was 89.

Jane will be remembered for her love of life and laughter, loyal friendships, and commitment to helping others. A speech pathologist by training, she traveled throughout Rhode Island tutoring young people in several school districts, including East Providence. Jane volunteered daily for much of her adult life at St. Stephen's Episcopal Church and was a dedicated member of the Altar Guild. She revered the Anglo-Catholic liturgy and music of her church which she had attended since childhood.

Jane was born on Nov. 11, 1926 in Smithfield, Rhode Island, to Corielynne Equi Latham and Daniel Webster Latham, the youngest of 3 children. She graduated from Classical High School, received her BA from Rhode Island College and a Masters in Speech Pathology at Boston University. Growing up on the Wionkhiege Valley family farm, she had a well earned reputation for juggling birthday parties, scores of Tea House diners and a house full of young ranch hands. She was a lifelong Red Sox fan with a prodigious memory of players and games.

Jane took great joy in the lives of her friends and family, remembering the smallest details and worrying about their futures. She will be missed by all, not the least, her niece Leslie in California, and her nephew Stephen in New York.

Funeral services will be held at 11am on Tuesday, September 20, at St. Stephen's Church, 114 George St., Providence
