Obituary for David Lester Angell
David L. Angell, 89 passed away peacefully with family beside him on Tuesday, June 28. Born in Westfield, MA. the son of Alice (Cosby) and Lester B. Angell. Married 51 loving years to the late Ines (Filios) Angell residing in Cranston since 1965. WWII U.S. Navy veteran, 'Plank Owner' and member of the original crew which commissioned the aircraft carrier U. S. S. Leyte. Enlisted Infantry member of the National Guard. On the GI bill, he resided on North Brothers Island, NY and graduated from RCA Radio School, NY. Attended University of Massachusetts, Amherst. Proprietor of Air-Land Communications at T.F Green Airport. He was also employed by Motorola and Cox Communications as an electrical technician. Commodore of the Edgewood Yacht Club, he sailed with a group called the Peppy Pappy's. He was a Cub Scout Den Leader and Cub Master in Edgewood for several years. Purchased his first Apple Computer in 1979 and subsequently co-founded the Rhody Apple Group.
He was blessed to live on a dead end street amid a caring fellowship of neighbors. He liked music, dancing, telling stories and often had a song ready to sing. He will remain in the hearts of many.
He is survived by his sister Joyce Pollard and her husband Frank of Southwick, MA. His son David R. Angell, of Arlington, WA. daughter Alisa A. Kozlowski and her husband Henry, of Lincoln, RI. Five grandchildren and five great grandchildren. He is predeceased by three sons, Christopher, Dan And Alan Angell.
