Obituary for William R. Egan
Providence: William R. Egan, 86 died peacefully at home on Wednesday. A life long Providence resident he was a son of the late Thomas and Hannah (Duggan) Egan.
Bill was an inspector for the Maylor Company in East Providence for many years.
He was an active parishioner of St Joseph Church in Fox Point and served as an usher there. He was a member of the Fox Pont Boys Club and was inducted into their hall of fame. He enjoyed traveling, golf and was a big fan of New England sports teams.
He leaves a sister: Eileen Whitaker of East Greenwich and 3 nieces and 3 nephews. He was the brother of the late Maureen Young and Thomas Egan Jr.
A Mass of Christian Burial will be held Saturday at 10am in St. Joseph’s Church, Hope St Providence. All covid restrictions will be in place. Burial will be private. Donations in his memory may be made to St. Joseph Church 92 Hope St. Providence. RI 02906.
