Obituary for William J. McCagney
William J. McCagney, 83, of Barrington passed away Thursday, May 18th at Hattie Ide Chafee.
Born and raised in Fox Point, he was the son of the late Andrew L. and Helen (King) McCagney. He was a Barrington resident for 65 years.
He worked for the State of Rhode Island before retiring, previously working for the New York & New Haven Railroad. William was a Navy Veteran.
He leaves two sisters: Eileen F. Wheeler of Barrington and Jean H. Perry of East Providence, a brother: Robert A. McCagney of Rumford and many nieces and nephews. He was brother of the late Edward P. McCagney.
The funeral will be held Saturday at 9am from the Monahan Drabble Sherman Funeral Home 230 Waterman St. Providence with a Mass of Christian Burial at 11am in St Joseph Church, Hope St., Providence. In lieu of flowers donations may be made to the Fox Point Boys and Girls Club, 90 Ives Street, Providence, RI 02906.
