Obituary for William Francis Hoffman
William Francis Hoffman born March 5, 1932. Passed November 23,2021. Beloved husband of Sandra A. (Witham) Hoffman for 64 years. Proud United States Navy veteran, Bill served as a Sea-Bee in the Korean War. Bill is also survived by his four loving children, William R Hoffman and his wife Joanne of Rockland Ma, Gregory Hoffman and his wife Nancy of Groton Ct; Lorinda DeBartolo and her husband Douglas of Sunset Beach, NC and Thomas Hoffman and his wife Lisa of Bradford RI. Bill was loving grandfather to Amber Debartolo, Nick Debartolo, Jate Hoffman, Jennifer Thomasson and Ashley Hoffman. Predeceased by 3 grandchildren Adam Debartolo, Ricky Hoffman and Gregory Hoffman as well as his brother Robert Hoffman. Survived by sister in law Rose Hoffman and several nieces, nephews and many great grandchildren.
Bill, also known as Barney to many, owned and operated Coveside Marina in Stonington and later Hoffman construction company. Bill loved his family, fishing and running his machinery which is where he felt the happiest.
A celebration of life will be held Monday, November 29th at 10:30 am in United Congregational Church of Westerly, 9 Castle Hill Road, Pawcatuck, CT 06379. No visitation. Arrangements will be handled by Monahan Drabble Sherman Funeral Home.
The family would like to thank the caring staff of Westerly hospital and Hope Hospice, with a special thanks to Paige.
In lieu of flowers, donations should be sent to The Wounded Warriors foundation or a charity of choice.
