Obituary for William B. Kenney
William B Kenney., 88 of Rumford died  Monday at Rhode Island Hospital in Providence. He was the beloved husband of Dorothy J. (Lemon) Kenney.
Born in Pawtucket a son of the late Dr. William B. and Mary (Duggan) Kenney, he has been a Rumford resident since 1962.
He was a Senior Probation officer in the 7th District Court in East Providence for 35 years retiring in 1983.
He was a graduate of St. Raphael Academy in Pawtucket and Providence College. He had also done graduate work at Boston University.
Bill was a former President of the Mal Brown Club at Providence College, a past president of the East Providence Jaycee’s and a former vice president of the R.I. Jaycee’s.  He has also served as the Vice President of the Rumford Lions Club, Secretary of the East Bay Mental Health Board. He was a communicant of St. Margaret’s Church and a former member of their Parish Council and was active in Troop 88 Boy Scouts there.  He was a member of the R.I. Probation & Parole Association.
Besides his wife he leave a son: Mark W. Kenney of Rumford, a daughter; Melissa Silvia and her husband Wayne of Warwick, a grandson: Matthew J. Kenney and his wife Linda of Rumford, He was the brother of the late Ellen McClurg and Mary Kenney.
The funeral will be held Saturday at 9am from the Monahan Drabble Sherman Funeral home 230 Waterman St., Providence with a Mass of Christian burial in St Margaret’s Church, Pawtucket Ave. at 10am.  Burial will be in Mt St Mary cemetery. Calling hours Friday 4-8pm. In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to the R.I. Heart Association.
 
 

Visiting hours Friday 4-8pm  Funeral Saturday at 9am from the Monahan Drabble Sherman Funeral Home 230 Waterman St., Providence with a Mass of Christian Burial at 10 in St margaret Church, Rumford
