Walter K. Champlin, Sr., 85, of What Cheer Avenue East Providence, died Monday at the Miriam Hospital. He was the husband of the late Leona (Partridge) Champlin.
Born in Providence, he was a son of the late Charles and Margaret (Watts) Champlin and brother of the late Charles E Champlin Jr. and Jane H. Champlin
Walter was a driver for Woods Service Station in East Providence for 30 years retiring in 1990. He was a Army Air Corp Veteran of World War II.
He was the father of Walter K. Champlin, Jr. of Columbus Ohio, Deborah Champlin Wilson of Miami, Fl. and the late Sandra Champlin. He was the grandfather of Rachel Greenfield and Walter K. Champlin, III
The funeral will be held Friday at 9am from the Monahan Drabble Sherman Funeral Home 230 Waterman St., Providence with a Mass of Christian Burial at 10:30 in Sacred Heart Church, Taunton Ave., East Providence. Burial will be in Gate of Heaven Cemetery, East Providence.
