Obituary for Sara Dina Pearlman
Sara (Doris) Dina Pearlman passed away in East Greenwich, RI on February 19, 2018. Sara was born July 12, 1925 in Dorchester, MA, the daughter of Philip and Bessie (Tatz) Doctor. Sara was first married to Morris Brown, deceased in 1954, and later to Ben Pearlman, deceased in 2005. Survived by children Ted (Pam) Pearlman of Framingham, MA, Martha (Buck) Rollins of Hyde Park, MA, Nancy Pearlman (Alan Bashevkin) of Bennington, VT, Michael (Maureen) Pearlman of Warwick, RI, Ellen (Paul) Beltz of Riverside, CA, and Richard Pearlman (Sheri Elzinga) of Costa Mesa, CA, 20 grandchildren and 11 great-grandchildren, as well as her BFF Elaine Robin. Predeceased by children David James Brown, Bruce Comstock, and Joyce Comstock Wiens, and siblings Evelyn Platt and Wilbur Doctor. Sara was prolific in sewing, knitting, quilting, crocheting, needlework, home repairs, and upholstery, a consummate cook and baker, and most of all a proud mother, grandmother, and greatgrandmother. She starred in the 2009 production of Arsenic and Old Lace with Contemporary Theater Co. in Wakefield, RI. Sara donated her body to Brown University Alpert Medical School for the advancement of medical science. Special thanks to the kind and caring staff at St. Elizabeth Community Green House #19.
