Robert J. "Bob" Osmanski died Tuesday April 1, 2025. He leaves his wife, Michelle A. Clark of Providence and many cherished family and friends. He was predeceased by his parents Frank C. Osmanski and Amelia T. "Amy" (Tamulewicz) and his sister Jean F. Osmanski.
Bob graduated from New England Tech as an electronics technician and later at Rhode Island College with a bachelor's degree and worked as a registered nurse for 25 years at Butler Hospital, Hope Hospice and Community Care Nurses before retiring in 2021. Bob was honored to be a nurse, and was grateful to be of service to provide comfort and care.
Bob loved music and drumming and was a part of the Providence music scene, working at the legendary Rocket and a was a drummer in bands from the 80's and 90's; Living with the Bomb, Criminalingo and Frieda, and many other bands throughout the years. Bob appreciated all music from rock, world, rap, classical to indie. Bruce Springsteen's music spoke to Bob’s heart; the poet of the everyday person, of struggle, breaking out, wild times with friends and heartfelt words of love and loss. Bob was a kind and sensitive soul and also funny, telling the best stories about his experiences and adventures.
Bob also loved traveling, to experience the world, to sit and talk with people, to hear their stories and share his. He traveled to many US cities and Europe with his "return always" places, Amsterdam, Corfu, New Orleans and Provincetown, where beautiful and happy memories and new discoveries could be found. But "Home is Providence". Bob loved Michelle and his dog Buddy and their home surrounded in art, music and gardens of a life well lived.
A memorial service will be held at the Historic Chapel at Swan Point on April 17 at 10:00 am.
