Obituary for Robert C. Leach
Robert C. Leach, 78, died Thursday at the R.I. Hospital. He was the husband of Sara (Shepard) Leach.
Born in Central Falls, he was the son of the late Robert and Annie (Partington) Leach he has been a Cranston resident for over 25 years.
A Certified Life Underwriter, he was the owner of the Robert C. Leach Insurance Company in Rumford for 40 years retiring 5 years ago.
An avid golfer, he was a member and had served on the board of Kirkbrae Country Club and Ledgemont Country Club. He had also served in the R.I. National Guard. Bob had also been a member of the University Club and the Providence Art Club.
Besides his wife he leaves a daughter: Kimberly Newman of East Providence and two grandchildren; Barry Newman of Providence and Michaela Newman of East Providence, a sister Sally DaCosta of Cumberland and a brother Gerald Leach of Woonsocket.
The funeral service will be held Monday at 10:30 in the Redwood Chapel of Swan Point Cemetery, Blackstone Blvd. Providence. Burial with Military Honors will follow.
