Obituary for Norman E. Rosander
Norman Edward Rosander, age 94, passed away peacefully on Friday, June 25,2021 at the John Clarke Nursing Center in Middletown, Rhode Island. He was born on May 15,1927 in Philadelphia, Pennsylvania to Berndt Alarik and Anna Linnea (Mathson) Rosander.

Before moving to Rhode Island, Norm lived in Lancaster Pennsylvania with his beloved wife, Dorothy Mildred (Josephson) Rosander, until her passing on August 30, 2017.

He graduated from Olney High School in Philadelphia and served proudly in the U.S. Army Air Corps during World War II (a mechanic on the new P-80). Later, he completed a program in architecture and construction management at Temple University. He worked as a master carpenter and superintendent for many years in commercial construction before becoming a business partner in Neromac Construction Company. He also served as church organist for many years.

Norm had many interests including the organ, house projects, crabbing on his boat, and, of course, his children, grandchildren, and great grandchildren. Later in life, he taught himself the art of origami and knitting with a loom. He made hundreds of intricate origami pieces and knitted hundreds of hats – many of which were donated to worthy causes.

After the death of Dorothy, he moved to Rhode Island where his son Doug and family live. He spent his final years at the John Clarke Nursing Center – cared for by the wonderful staff. When able, he attended the United Baptist Church in Newport, RI. He was a Christian with faith in the Lord Jesus Christ for his salvation.

He is survived by his daughter Donna Biglin and husband Gene, and sons Douglas Rosander and wife Crystal, and David Rosander and his wife Beth, 5 grandchildren, 4 great grandchildren and sister-in-law Agnes Rosander. In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by his brothers Milton and Russell and grandson Scott Biglin.

Norm will be missed.
