Obituary for Nicholas Pappas
Nicholas Pappas, 86, died Saturday at the Philip Hulitar Hospice Center in Providence. He was the husband of the late Teresa (Lappin) Pappas.
A Pawtucket resident most of his life, he was a son of the late Andrew and Paraskevi (Verras) Pappadopoulos.Â
He was a facility supervisor for the city of Pawtucket for many years retiring in 1994.
He was a World War II Veteran, a lifelong member of the Greek Social Club in Pawtucket.
He leaves a daughter; Deborah-Ann Owens and her husband Dennis of Jamestown, a son Marc R. Pappas PPD (Ret) and his wife Cheryl of Coventry and a granddaughter: Alyssa Kate Pappas of Coventry. He also leaves 3 sisters: Georgia Morretti and Vernie Pappas both of Pawtucket and Anastasia DeLuca of North Providence. He was the brother of the late Michael, Alexander, Theodore and William Pappas.
The Funeral service will be held Thursday at 11am in the Assumption of the Blessed Virgin Mary Greek Orthodox Church, 97 Walcott St., Pawtucket. Burial will be private. Calling hours Wednesday 4-7pm in the Monahan Drabble Sherman Funeral Home 230 Waterman St., Providence. In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to Philip Hulitar Hospice Center, 1085 North Main St., Providence, RI 02904.
Visiting hours Wednesday, January 14th from 4pm to 7pm
