Obituary for Nicholas H. Fazzano
Cranston, RI – Nicholas H. Fazzano, formerly of the Edgewood section of Cranston, RI died on Friday, April 12 at the Grand Islander Health Center in Middletown.
Mr. Fazzano was born in Hartford, CT on July 16, 1919; he was the son of the late Domenic and Margaret (Berardi) Fazzano. He was a graduate of Cranston High School, Cheshire Academy and Yale University.
He served in the U.S. Army with the rank of Captain during WWII in the Pacific theatre of operations.  He once was Eleanor Roosevelt’s escort at the Army base at New Caledonia.
He retired as Vice President of The Imperial Knife Company, which he joined in 1946. During his 40 years with the Knife Company, he was the manager of Production in the Pocket Knife Division.  His duties involved travel to company facilities in Mexico, Ireland, and England. 
Throughout the years, Mr. Fazzano was a parishioner at Saint Paul’s Parish in Cranston and an active supporter of Catholic and educational charities. Mr. Fazzano was an art lover, avid reader and for much of his life swam daily at the YMCA.
He will be greatly missed by his extended family.  Mr. Fazzano is survived by his brother, Louis and was predeceased by brothers Joseph, Francis and his wife Beatrice, Henry, and a sister Philomena (Minnie). He is also survived by his sister-in-law, Barbara Fazzano and nephews, Francis J. Fazzano, Jr., MD and his wife, Catalina of Coral Springs, FL, Nicholas G. Fazzano of Providence, William H. Fazzano of Boston and nieces, Joanne Fazzano and her husband Joseph Gibson of East Providence, Mary Louise Fazzano of Newport, and Margaret (Peggy) Batchelder and her husband Richard of Weston, MA.
A Mass of Christian Burial will be held at St. Paul’s Church, Broad Street, Cranston, RI on Tuesday, April 16 at 10:00 a.m. Burial will follow in St. Ann’s Cemetery, Cranston.  Calling hours will be held Monday, April 15 from 5 to 8 p.m. at Monahan Drabble Sherman Funeral Home, 230 Waterman Street, Providence.  In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to the William Hall Free Library, 1825 Broad Street, Edgewood, RI 02905, the Scandinavian Home, 1811 Broad Street, Edgewood, RI 02905, or the Alzheimer’s Association of RI – Grand Islander Team,  245 Waterman Street, Suite 306, Providence, RI, 02906.

Visiting hours Monday 5-8pm. Mass of Christian Burial will be Tuersday ay 10am in St. Paul's Church, Broad St., Edgewood.
