Obituary for Mercedes Kingman
Mercedes, L. Kingman, of Providence died Friday at the Hopkins Manor in North Providence. She was the wife of the late Robert Kingman.
Born in Providence a daughter of the late Joseph and Margaret (MacCarvill) Kelly, she was a Coventry resident for many years returning to Providence 12 years ago.
She worked as a sales representative for Jordan Marsh for many years.
She was a communicant of St. Raymond’s church in Providence where she also served as a Eucharistic Minister. She was also a former communicant of St. John and Paul Church in Coventry.
She is survived by 2 sisters: Eilene F. Kelly and Sr. Rose Marie Kelly C.N.D. both of Providence. She was the sister of the late Margaret Poland, Bernadette Castle, Veronica, Barbara, Joseph Jr., William and James Kelly. She also leaves many nieces and nephews and great nieces and nephews. Â Â
The funeral will be held Tuesday at 9am from the Monahan, Drabble & Sherman Funeral Home 230 Waterman Street Providence with a Mass of Christian Burial in the St. Raymond’s Church at 10am. Calling hours are omitted. Donations in her memory may be made to St. Raymond’s Church, 2 Matilda St., Providence, RI 02904  or to the Congregation of Notre Dame, 30 Highland Rd., Wilton, Ct. 06577.
