Obituary for Mary E. Hanson
Mary E. Hanson, 82, of Providence died Sunday at the R.I. Hospital. She was the wife of the late John Hanson.
Born in Liverpool, England, she was a daughter of the late Walter and Annie (Steinbeck) Heard, she has been a Providence resident since 1970.
Mary worked at the former Wayland Toy Store for over 10 years. She was a homebody, first and foremost enjoying time with her family. She loved knitting for her grandchildren and for children of friends and neighbors.
She leaves 2 sons: Rodney Hanson of North Providence and Robert Hanson of Providence and 2 grandchildren Katherine and Nicholas Hanson. She also leaves a sister: Patricia Symonds of Providence and a brother: Walter Heard of Canada.
A funeral Service will be held Saturday at 10am in the Historic Chapel at Swan Point Cemetery. Calling Hours Friday 5-7pm in the Monahan Drabble Sherman Funeral Home, 230 Waterman St., Providence. In lieu of flowers donations may be made to American Parkinson Disease Association, R.I. Chapter, PO Box 41659, Providence, RI 02940.
