Mary Ann DePeters, Mary (Campanella)
76, of Providence, RI, passed away suddenly at home after a long battle with Parkinson’s disease on December 11, 2018. She was the loving wife of Dr. Franklin A. DePeters for 51 years. Born in NYC, she was the daughter of the late Dominic and Carmen Campanella and twin sister of the late Dr. Joseph and sister of Catherine Lebson. She graduated from Mount St. Mary’s in Newburgh, NY, and was an elementary school teacher in Chicago where she met her husband. Her most significant role was devoted wife and mother of three daughters that she raised in Glens Falls, NY. Besides spending time with her family, she especially enjoyed cooking for large gatherings. No one left her home hungry or unloved. She was also a volunteer for Big Brothers Big Sisters and a member and a past president of the Medical Auxiliary of Warren and Washington County. She was affectionately known as Nanny to her six grandchildren and to many others.
Besides her husband, she is survived by daughters Mary Francis (Paul) McAuliffe of Newton, MA; Jennifer (Rick) Buckley of Eastchester, NY; and Dr. Martha and (Dr. Peter) Pizzarello of Providence, and grandchildren Paul Jr., Carmen, Parker, Tyler, Franklin and Anna.
Visitation will be at held at Monahan, Drabble & Sherman Funeral Home 230 Waterman Street, 585 Blackstone Blvd. Providence on Sunday, December 16 from 3-5 PM. Memorial service will be held at the Redwood Chapel at Swan Point Cemetery Monday at 11 AM. C
