Obituary for John "Pop" Jesse
John "Pop" Jesse, 91, of West Warwick passed away peacefully with his family on Wednesday, August 18. He was the son of the late Joseph and Mary (Furtado) Jesse. He leaves behind his wife of 68 years, Jean Jesse (Foxwell); two daughters, Bonnie Jesse (Stephen Petrucci) and Sharon Sullivan (Tom); grandchildren, Steven DiPalma (Christina), Christina Zinno and Hayley Petrucci; and two great-grandchildren Jayden and Ariana DiPalma. He was a proud member of the 152nd/143rd RI Air National Guard for 41 years, a retired (MSGT) flight engineer. John was a devoted husband, beloved father, grandfather, great-grandfather, and a brother to his military family.
A private memorial service will be held at a later date for close family.
John’s last wish was to donate his body to Brown University for students to study and as Pop would say, “I’ve always wanted to go to Brown, and now I will.”
